"The lay of the land"... here is an overview of Maple Grove Hot Springs. The tubs and poolhouse all front Oneida Narrows Reservoir on the Bear River in Southeastern Idaho.

    

     

First photo:This view is coming down Maple Grove Road from Hwy 36 looking slightly North, you can just make out the poolhouse roof and the therapy pool. These photos are an overview looking South down the Narrows. The white building is the poolhouse and far left center of photo is the "source pond" of hot water.

Farthest Tub

    

This tub is made from rock and mortar about 14 feet round with rock bench. The temperature is normally 108 in winter and summer starts 102 in am and is about 106 by evening. This one is drained and powerwashed weekly usually on Fridays, it is full by evening. Fresh water is constantly flowing in and old exiting, allowing us to keep the hot springs natural and chemical free.

New Middle Tub

   

Just finished September of 2008 there are not yet pictures of a winter setting. This tub  has two levels of seating so you can sit on the tall bench to cool off and sit on the lower bench to submerge. We have been keeping this between 104 -106 so far and clean it on Wednesdays.

First Tub

    

This tub is a little larger as it is oval shaped, about 14' x20'. The temperature is about 104 in winter and summer is 102 by evening. The same flow through system for a natural hot spring, drained and power washed Thursdays.

Therapy Pool

         

This pool is about 31 feet square it is the original homesteaders pool with updates. It originally was wood sided, built ~1914, but had been cemented twice over the years before we got it. We have split it in half using only the shallow end for people and covering the deep end as a utility water area (this feeds the little waterfalls in the tubs).  The stairs and sidewalks are new (2003) and the sidewalks have piping to run hot water for warm snow free walks in the future. The therapy pool also has a flow through system for natural hot spring water, drained and power washed every other Tuesday... 2009...January 13&27, February 10&24, March 10&24,April 7&21- this will be Spring Maintenence and we will be closed this day, May 5&19, June 2,16&30, July 14&28, August 11&25, September 8&22, October 6&20 this will be fall maintenence day and we will be closed this day, November 3&17, December 1,15 &29.

    

The "Poolhouse" has a full kitchen available for all patrons to use, it includes pots, pans and dishes open 10 am-10 pm. Drinks, snacks and convenience items in addition to MGHS merchandise are for sale as well.

    

     

Clean shower/changing and restrooms (ladies first photo and men's second) are also housed in the poolhouse, these are available at all times for overnight guests.

Deer enjoy the hot springs too.

As well as Moose occasionally.

Campsites are on the other side of the dirt road (Oneida Narrows Rd) from the reservoir, soaking and poolhouse, with a short walk to center of activity.
